A special thank you to the nearly 100 volunteers and The Dusty Boot for their role in the success of the annual Eagle Community Clean-Up Day, April 25.
Volunteers arrived between 8-9 a.m. for free coffee and donuts that was provided by the ‘Boot’ and to collect their volunteer t-shirts and supplies for the day.
Hundreds of filled orange trash bags were visible along the roads and highways of Eagle late Saturday afternoon as the volunteers left them for the DPW to collect. Fifty bags of trash were collected by a group of volunteers organized by Deron Dircksen, DPW’s assistant town engineer, along a two-mile stretch of I-70 east beginning at Exit 147.
Bonfire Brewing, (r) led by Andy Jessen, was one of the many business teams and they collected all the trash along Market Streetto the end and along the paved area of Eby Creek Road from Market Street to the end of the paved area.
Eagle Community Clean-Up Day was sponsored by the Eagle Ranch Association and the Town of Eagle in cooperation with the Eagle Chamber. The Vail Honeywagon, The Dusty Boot, Mountain Beverage, Vail Valley Cares Thrifty Shops, Allied Record Services and Habitat ReStore all generously supported the cleanup.
